Mr. Gao is a senior engineer and a key advocate for China’s PV industry, wielding global influence as an expert in the field. He earned his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University in 1985 and his M.S. degree in Physical Chemistry from Jilin University in 1988. Currently, Mr. Gao holds the positions of Chairman of the Board of Trina Solar Co., Ltd., and President of the Central Research Institute. Additionally, he serves as deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, director of the Enterprise Committee of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, and deputy chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association. He holds honorary positions including Chairman of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, Executive Vice Chairman of the China New-Type Energy Storage Industry Innovation Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, and founding member of the Advisory Committee on Sustainable Development of the United Nations Development Programme. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Mr. Gao was awarded the title of “Advanced Individual Making Outstanding Contributions to the Reform and Opening-up of Jiangsu” in 2018. In 2021, he was honored with the prestigious “State Technological Innovation Award”, marking a significant achievement in China’s photovoltaic technology field. Furthermore, he was selected as a leading talent of China’s “Ten Thousand Talent Program” in 2022.
